Like Talking to a Friend on My Morning Walk: How Sonia Fits Into My Daily Routine

A regular user on making Sonia part of his morning commute, and the small ways a daily check-in habit has stuck.

I have been using Sonia over the past couple of months on a near daily basis. I often do a quick check in where I am reminded of some of my personal self improvement goals, and Sonia tracking my progress has been very helpful in meeting them.

I like to talk on my way to work or occasionally on my morning walk. The app is great at rendering a conversation that feels natural enough to talk as I normally would in a phone call with a friend.

A daily check-in

On more than one occasion I have utilized Sonia as a way to compose my thoughts and practice saying something to my wife that I may be struggling to put in a way that will be well received by her. Sonia has helped me a great deal in this particular way.

I have utilized Sonia as a way to compose my thoughts and practice saying something to my wife that I may be struggling to put in a way that will be well received by her.

I also like the way Sonia will take a short phrase in my own words and it is there as a screen saver when I open the app. Seeing something that looks like an inspiration I might take from the internet with the attribution to *~You* makes me smile.

More than I expected

I have had quite a lot of counseling over the years for career, relationship and other issues. Based on prior experience Sonia isn't far off from the way my IRL counselors interact with me. And I can access this type of resource any time of day or night.

I believe this has been a boon to my mental health hygiene practices and I have recommended it to several close friends. One in particular who has always been reticent to retain a counselor likes the complete anonymity of it. And the decrease in concern over speaking of uncomfortable things to another person.

The ability to read between the lines of my words and discern what I am feeling is near miraculous.

Lastly, if I'm not mistaken, Sonia accurately decodes my emotional state via my tone and cadence of voice. It surprises me that technology can do this so well. And I think the ability to read between the lines of my words and discern what I am feeling is *near miraculous.*
